True Crime Podcasts Part One

Last Podcast on the Left: A hilarious podcast that often features true crime and serial killers. Ben, Marcus and Henry share tales of the macabre (and sometimes, the weird) while making you laugh. The episodes are crazy well-researched and give you a ton of information, often over 2 or more episodes. They have a heavy hitter series that focuses on serial killers and they are fantastic. Sure, some of the old episodes can be a little rough, but if you like your crime with some humor check out this podcast. Also, just an FYI: they also do supernatural stuff as well as aliens and whatnot. If that is not your cup of tea, they have plenty of murder. However, these crazy ones are often the most hilarious. My Favorite Murder: Another humor/ true crime podcast, this one features two funny females, Georgia and Karen, who each share a murder they find interesting. Sometimes, they tend to go off on tangents, so be aware of that, but each episode features great cases ...

The Waddell Buddhist Temple Shooting

Growing up in Arizona and being a life-long fan of true crime, I was surprised to have just heard of this case. Granted I was about seven when it happened, but still...how did this case, one considered the worst massacre in Arizona history, escape my attention? Now, living here my whole life, I still wasn't sure where Waddell was, but a quick search showed me that it is northwest of Phoenix which is really far from where I currently reside. The temple is beautiful, a unique mix of the stucco and desert shades of Arizona and the architecture of Thailand. The...

Introduction

Welcome to Crime Kitten, the meow-ist true crime blog on the web. Maybe. I realize the name is silly, but hey, it wasn't easy coming up with a good name and I do enjoy kittens. And crime. So, if you have not guessed, this blog is all about true crime. Why true crime? Well, I have been fascinated with it my whole life (or as long as I can recall, anyways) and I enjoy reading, writing, talking about it and watching it. I think there is something interesting about trying to understand why. Why would someone kill? Sure, maybe they are evil, maybe it is about money or power or sex...but lots of people want those things and don't resort to murder. I cried when my fish died (as an adult), so for me, I can rarely relate to someone hurting someone else for any reason beyond self-defense. Yeah, I can be a bit morbid in my humor and my interests, but I am not the only one out there who finds true crime compelling. It has often provided me with a conversation topic...
